Where Transformers finally got a regular fembot in 1986 with Arcee the Gobots started out immediately with Crasher. Anyways, the Gobots did have something the Transformers took a while to catch up with. And Zod compared to the Dinobots? Come on! It's interesting how hard marketing worked to sell both franchises, but what may have been a selling point to a salesman was a weakness in the mind of a kid. Leader-1 was a cool F-15 fighter jet, but was a wuss compared to Optimus who was a cool semi tractor trailer big rig! And Cy-Kill was just a funky motorcycle whereas Megatron was a rad gun! And then there were the sound effects for each franchise where I would bet more people in my generation would recognize the Transformers transformation sound effect versus the Gobots changing.
